Ths history of Israel is one of the most interesting we can encounter in the history of Europe. It is an extensive history, full of cultural richness, but also of blood, tension, and conflict. For over 3000 years, the first pages about this place were written...

The first references made to this place date back to 1200 years B.C. There are references from the Egyptians of a town called Israel, the patriarch of the Fatherland of the Jewish People. Israel, Judea, Holy Land, Promised Land, and including Palestine, are all names that have been put on this region through the times that the Romans conquered this land and inhabited it.

Today, Isreal doesn't have much to do with what it was at the beginning, with the extensions of terrain that existed in that age, until the beginning of our days, there have been many vicissitudes that have been given in this region. Its strategic location brought many to fight imperialistic wars here to attempt to conquer this land. The Romans were one of the first to rage bloody war in the region, before them, the Pharaohs ruled the land. During the Roman Period, the Jews lived in Canaan, independent from Rome, but were flattened by the legions of Caesar in 135 A.D. and the region was renamed Palestine.

After the fall of the Roman Empire, the Palestine region was controlled by the Byzantines during a short period of time, specifically at the arrival of the Arabs to the area, which began the Omeya Dynasty in the 7th Century. The Arabs, through different dynasties, ruled the area until the 12th Century.

In the beginning of the second millennium, many conflicts plagued the area. There were the Crusades, the Conquest of Jerusalem, and the establishment of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, a reign that endured only a little over a century, when the third crusade defeated the kingdom, and the area was annexed to the Ottoman Empire again. This dominance of the region on behalf of the Turks lasted until the 20th Century.

But at the end of the 19th Century, the Jewish People returned to Palestine, a historic movement known as Aliyah, which ws a consequence of the purging of Jews in the old continent. The Jews bought the Ottomans, and at this time still owners of the land, and numerous lands, this is when the first settlements began. This moment was an important turning point, which has brought us to our current history, as this is when the first tensions arose between the Arabs and the Jews.
